Query Parameters
What to search for. Required, and the only parameter search actually needs — everything else selects a corpus or a depth.
Reddit's own query syntax is passed through untouched; nothing here rewrites, stems or quotes it.
1 <= length <= 500What to search: posts (default), communities, comments, people or media. Each row states its kind. people returns a single short page. media rows are posts with null score and comment_count.
"posts"Value in

- "communities"
- "comments"
- "people"
- "media"
How many distinct results to return. Pages are walked for you. This endpoint has no usable cursor, so raise count to go deeper. type=people returns one short page.
1 <= value <= 20025Optional cursor taken from Reddit itself. This endpoint returns no next_cursor; use count to control depth.

Search records are genuinely thinner than feed rows — Reddit renders them as SDUI markup with no post elements at all, so score and comment count come from the visible counter row and are null wherever the renderer omits it (all media results, for instance). type=people returns one short page and then no cursor; a small result there is the corpus, not an error. Raise `count` to go deeper — the cursor is not exposed because it cannot be re-aimed at a trimmed list." }}
