# List startups

Returns companies from Wellfound's startup directory, with the postings the directory highlights alongside them. `count` (1-500) is a number of companies, not job rows. `remote` restricts the directory to companies hiring remotely.

| `remote` | query | no | boolean | Restrict the directory to companies hiring remotely. Default: false. |
| `count` | query | no | integer | How many companies to return (1-500). A larger count is slower. Fewer may come back when Wellfound's results end; ended_at_source_limit says so. Default: 40. |
