# Credits

> How endpoint credit costs work and how to check your balance.

Source: https://docs.toolzerhub.com/docs/credits

Requests draw from the credit balance associated with your account.

## What a request costs
One credit is one request on most routes.

Some routes cost more than one credit. The exact cost of a route is shown on
its page in the [API reference](/reference) — that number is the
source of truth, not this page.

You are only charged on a successful response. Errors — bad parameters, an
unreachable source, anything on our side — cost nothing.

## Checking your balance
```bash
curl "https://api.toolzerhub.com/v1/credits" \
  -H "x-api-key: $TOOLZERHUB_API_KEY"
```

Account and plan terms are managed in the
[Toolzer Hub dashboard](https://app.toolzerhub.com/signup). When a request
needs credits, its endpoint page shows the published cost and the API reports
an error when the account cannot cover it.
